Manna

Come hungry souls, that feed upon the wind,

feast here at the table of the lamb

Come taste the bread of life,

here find living streams

Follow the one who feeds your soul and knows your need.

I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs
that from your blessed hand may come
a weary, weak and feeble sinner pleads
for in this manna, all my wantings cease

I would not presume to sit at your feet,
but you are the same Lord who delights in mercy
and in that mercy, you bid me come rest
that I may sit among your saints, a welcome guest

I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs
that from your blessed hand may come
So let the wonder of Your mercy, forever be my song,
I’ll daily feed on manna from the Son.

Come hungry soul, the harvest we see
where we behold this sacred mystery
that here at this table of wine and broken bread
the needs of flesh and soul are known and met

I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs
that from your blessed hand may come
So let the wonder of  Your mercy, forever be my song,
I’ll daily feed on manna from the Son.

Grant, Most Gracious Lord, our bread and wine indeed
Grant that by his body and blood, we are made clean

I am not worthy to gather up the crumbs
that from your blessed hand may come
a weary, weak and feeble sinner pleads
for in this manna, all my wantings cease

I’ll let the wonder of  Your mercy, forever be my song,
I’ll daily feed on manna from the Son.

Consider

Consider it joy, whenever you face

trials that test your faith, hardships that lead to grace

Consider it joy, to know your own need

for there in the Savior’s care, in weakness may rest secure

For He is good, and His mercy endures
Upon the rising sun, His word is sent forth
and He will keep your soul through its darkest night
and He will lead you into His light

Consider it gain, whenever you lose

confidence in your way,  to know you have gone astray

Consider it gain, to lose your own life
for then to be wholly known, held ever as Christ’s own

For He is good, and His mercy endures
Upon the rising sun, His word is sent forth
and He will keep your soul through its darkest night
and He will lead you into His light

Consider the shame, born for your own sake

for there on that cursed hill, at great cost he suffered still

Consider the shame, but bear it no more.
Christ holds the very cure for your own sin-sick soul

For He is good, and His mercy endures
Upon the rising sun, His word is sent forth
and He will keep your soul through its darkest night
and He will lead you into His light

Unbind the Brokenhearted
by Chelsea Hamshaw

Oh Lord, the God of my Salvation,

from the depths I cry in pain

my wretchedness has brought destruction,

my bed is made here in the grave

Counted among the wayward nations,

among the wicked and the vain

Caught up in a crooked generation,

left ruined by our own disdain

Can the dead rise to praise?

Can life come from the grave?
Will you unbind the brokenhearted,

cast the shackles from the dead

Grant your deliverance and pardon,

reign for ages without end

Oh Lord, the God of our Salvation,

now the bearer of the cross

Bore the weight of man’s corruption,

Counted all for love’s sake lost
The holy one among the nations,

mocked, afflicted, beaten, scorned

Crowned with thorns and left forsaken,

condemned to death, the veil is torn

Then he rose from the grave,

clothed in glory and grace!
Now You unbind the brokenhearted,

cast the shackles from the dead

You grant deliverance and pardon,

and reign for ages without end

Now the dead rise and praise,

clothed in glorious grace
For you shine light o’er all the darkness,

declaring victory from the grave

We glory in your loving-kindness,

God’s mighty hand is strong to save

For you unbind the brokenhearted, cast the shackles from the dead
You grant deliverance and pardon, and reign for ages without end
Reign for ages without end

Plead for Me
(Ascension Song)

At the rising of the shining son,
we behold our High Priest’s parting
He seats us at the Father’s side.
Now he builds a temple for the weak
and how he fortifies us, clothes us in his righteousness

Abram’s Ram, You battered the heavens,
plead for me, I’ll sing to thee
Precious lamb, your blood marks the pathway home.
Brightest torch, you shine where eyes can’t see,
and how you’re leading me
Your Holy Spirit sings like a bird,
calling us to the wedding feast.

You’re seated now in splendor,

lifting us from miry ground
You make our future sound
Broken souls are crying out for comfort from their fears
The Father’s arms are near

Abram’s Ram, You battered the heavens,
plead for me, I’ll sing to thee
Precious lamb, your blood marks the pathway home.
Brightest torch, you shine where eyes can’t see,
and how you’re leading me
Your Holy Spirit sings like a bird,
calling us to the wedding feast.

When trouble falls, we won’t look to the left or right
Dark clouds turn bright where’er he trods
We’re wide awake, our eyes are fixed on emerald skies
The bridegroom is coming for his bride

Abram’s Ram, You battered the heavens,
plead for me, I’ll sing to thee
Precious lamb, your blood marks the pathway home.
Brightest torch, you shine where eyes can’t see,
and how you’re leading me
Your Holy Spirit sings like a bird,
calling us to the wedding feast.

Pilgrim, Press On

Pilgrim press on, lift up your heart

as a fragrant offering before our God.

Pilgrim press on, be steadfast and strong,

with eyes fixed on Christ, we run the race that’s set before us

Pilgrim, press on, press on to Zion

though trials rise higher than the hills,
He has drawn nearer still

For the path to which He calls us
is the hope to which He draws us

He will not leave us or forsake us;

He goes before us and He is with us

So pilgrim, press on, don’t lose heart

Pilgrim press on, make known all he’s done

until every tribe and tongue gives glory to the Son

Pilgrim press on, through labor and loss

until all the world beholds the glory of the cross

Pilgrim, press on, press on to Zion

though trials rise higher than the hills,
He has drawn nearer still

For the path to which He calls us

is the hope to which He draws us

He will not leave us or forsake us;

He goes before us and He is with us

So pilgrim, press on, don’t lose heart

Pilgrim press on, eyes on the horizon

we pass through death’s valley
to possess a better country

Pilgrim press on, fresh courage take

don’t fear the night, for soon the morning light will break

Pilgrim, press on, press on to Zion

though trials rise higher than the hills,

He has drawn nearer still

For the path to which He calls us

is the hope to which He draws us

He will not leave us or forsake us;

He goes before us and He is with us

So pilgrim, press on, don’t lose heart;

Pilgrim, press on, don’t lose heart.

Mercy in the Dust

God so loved this barren world, he gave his only son

to walk in dust and ash and rust,
so heaven here may come

Nails did pierce his holy hands and feet
that the dust of man might heaven taste and meet

Behold him on the mercy seat,
he bears the dreaded curse
for sin’s demand is only blood
poured out on the dust of earth

Nails did pierce his holy hands and feet
that our unworthy souls might know his peace

And from my stricken heart with tears,
two wonders I confess:
the wonder of redeeming love and my unworthiness.
I cling to thee, the cross my only plea

Upon the cross of Jesus, mine eyes at times can see
the very dying form of one who suffered there for me
Nails did pierce his holy hands and feet
that my unworthy soul might know my king

And from my stricken heart with tears,
two wonders I confess:
the wonder of redeeming love and my unworthiness.
I cling to thee, the cross my only plea

I take, O cross, thy shadow for my abiding place:
I ask no other sunshine than the radiance of His face;
Nails did pierce his holy hands and feet
that heaven’s glory now may dwell in me

And from my stricken heart with tears,
two wonders I confess:
the wonder of redeeming love and my unworthiness.
I cling to thee, the cross my only plea

Turn Upright

You alone are my portion, Lord.
In a desolate land, your word is my sure reward

where sin had ensnared and starved my soul

in mercy you fed me with your bounteous store

Known in the word and broken bread

I am refined, nurtured, and fed

O lovely source of true delight,

my world you mend and turn upright

Fashion and form me in all your ways,
for there I abide, I know I’m made to praise

though fierce is the drought and though dim my state

I labor on, sustained by your plenteous grace.

Known in the word and broken bread

I am refined, nurtured, and fed

O lovely source of true delight,

my world you mend and turn upright

You are worthy at all times

to be praised by happy voices
O God, how weak and frail my frame

I turn from this heart of indignation,
I fall on Your Son, stand in his love till this life be done
You are worthy at all times

to be praised by happy voices
You’re glory fills this tired world

O gracious light, sustain your people

We look to the Son, and forevermore

behold all He’s done

Known in the word and broken bread

I am refined, nurtured, and fed

O lovely source of true delight,

my world you mend and turn upright
my world you mend and turn upright

Hither Come

Come, said Jesus' sacred voice,

Come, and make My paths your choice;
I will guide you to your home;

Weary pilgrim, hither come.

Come you homeless, sole, forlorn,

Long have you borne the proud world’s scorn,
Long have you roamed the barren waste,

Weary pilgrim, hither haste.

Come to one who has walked this wilderness
endured every test, was crucified and dead
and can bring your soul into the everlasting rest

Hither here to Calvary, see the balm flows for thee
here is healing for the guilt and pain,

weary pilgrim, leave your shame
Here is balm for every wound

here is life beyond the tomb
Here is peace that ever shall endure,

weary pilgrim, rest secure

Come to one who has walked this wilderness
endured every test, was crucified and dead
and can bring your soul into the everlasting rest

Where Are You?

Batter my Heart, Lord, I sit at the door

my shame built the walls
and I’ve filled this room with thistles and thorns

I built my house from Adam’s tree

it’s unstable, exposed, collapsing
and feels like it’s swallowing me

And, oh, I hear you call to me,

"Where are you? Come rest in me"

You pull back the blinds, break open this tomb

You divorce me from fickle loves and rescue me back to you.

You built a new home from Calvary’s tree

the foundation is certain,
your blood paves the way to a new kind of peace

And, oh, I hear you call to me,

"Where are you? Come rest in me"

You kindled loves fire, planted new life

Set a place at your table,
a room in your home for your weary bride

You’ve restored my soul, all is made well in You

I’m rejoicing and feasting
and resting in hands that are faithful and true

And now when I hear you call to me,  "Where are you?"

I’m resting Lord, in thee

While Adam’s seed dies Your harvest is sweet

all Your pruning and shaping
prepared the home for a heavenly feast

I’ll work in the garden, my labor will be
sowing seeds for the kingdom
that bear the fruit of Calvary’s tree.

And now when I hear you call to me,
"Where are you?"

I’m feasting Lord, with thee

Rooted

Behold the Maker of the heavens and the earth

Who calls the rain to fall, who bids the garden grow

Tender like a father, he cultivates and mends

He grafts the tender shoot where living waters flow

Oh, to be rooted here within the vine,

where in every season you provide

in comfort, joy, or pain, may I abide in all your ways

Behold the shoot of Jesse, born from the withered tree

there from his branch he yields new fruit upon the vine

Then in the crushing see his blood poured out in love

He drank the bitter cup, that we might taste the wine

Oh, to be rooted here within the vine,

where in every season you provide

in comfort, joy, or pain, may I abide in all your ways

In the cold and bitter season,

in these harsh and pressing times,

when I cannot find a reason,

hold me close within your vine.

When the pruning feels like dying,

when my tears have left me dry,

in Your care I leave my longing.

Rooted here, I find new life

Oh, to be rooted here within the vine,

where in every season you provide

in comfort, joy, or pain, may I abide in all your ways

Christ is Keeping Me

Christ ever before me, ever behind me, always in me
Though I was blind, his eye was on me

always pursuing, caused me to see

Christ, first in the battle, his will to conquer

the evil in me

A shield now is he, ever protecting

the sheep of his pasture, supplying our needs

When I arise, my eyes are fixed on thee, bound to thee
When I lay down, may he still keep me,

Christ is keeping me

Christ’s might will uphold me, his wisdom will guid me to behold things unseen

Thine own word is ever consuming,

then ever renewing each word that I speak

When I arise, my eyes are fixed on thee, bound to thee
When I lay down, may he still keep me,

Christ is keeping me

When I arise, my eyes are fixed on thee,

bound to thee
When I lay down, may he still keep me,
Christ is keeping me

Begone Unbelief

Begone, unbelief, my Savior is near,
and for my relief, he surely appeared;
though with doubt I wrestle, I will fear no harm.
With Christ in the vessel, I can face the storm.
Though dark be my way, he is my guide,
‘Tis mine to obey, and his to provide;

Though cisterns be broken and creatures all fail,
the word he has spoken will surely prevail.
He breathes o’er my sorrow, he holds me in his sight
and through the night,

he bids me on, he calls me home

So I press on to that place
where faith unshaken dwells.
here in the arms of your grace my sorrow is held
Yet You press me further still,
content not with the shallows
You bid me to deeper wells
and out of the shadows
Though dark be my way, you are my guide,
so I will obey, and trust you will provide

At time I confess I’m a child in the night,
haunted by shadows that oppress on every side
yet you heard my cry, and entered the darkness
so through the night, your guiding light will lead me home

So I will not retreat, Christ is my reward;

this darkness will flee, this battle is the Lord’s
Though painful at present, It will cease before long,
And then O how pleasant The conqueror’s song!
And all through the way, you have been our guide;
we will obey, and walk through valleys wide

Death has been broken, its power has failed,
The morn is awoken and Christ has prevailed.
He entered the darkness and broke through the night
and with his light he bids us on, he leads us home
